8:30 – 10 | Urban Habitats: Planting for Wildlife & Identifying Native Plants
Guide: Ken Lassman
For over 60 years, Hidden Valley Camp has intentionally used native plants and considered wildlife in creating a habitat surrounded by an increasingly urban area. See how native plants are used at Hidden Valley, how to identify them and how to use them in your landscape.
9 – 10 | Day Camp at Hidden Valley
Guide: Brigid Murphy
Girls Scouts have always been the reason Hidden Valley Camp exists. New and returning day campers are invited to bring their families to Trails Day to learn about the camp and its history. Experienced scouts will host a unit site and answer questions about day camp.
9 – 10 | The History of Hidden Valley
Guide: Karen Warner
Hidden Valley’s history is rich with stories of courageous, ahead-of-their time women and extends to the present day with our commitment to maintaining the camp’s environmental integrity for Girl Scouts and other youth.
